 Lilias and me
I first met Lilias when working with a family of twins I had been Maternity nursing for in 2001. She was a nanny for the other family who had all hired a villa in France. We soon started a crèche with all 4 children taking it in turns to cook and organise activities.
Since then I have often seen Lilias at work and have seen how all the children and parents alike adore her. She is confident and reassuring. And all the parents trust her implicitly with their children.
I am very impressed with Lilias’s ability to turn a crying baby or child into laughter and smiles in a few minutes. I see a lot of myself in Lilias, the affinity she has with little ones, the calming nature and the ability to melt into the background when she has to.
She has glowing references from all the families she has worked with and is still in touch with a lot of them, which I think says it all.
I am happy to recommend Lilias as a wonderful Maternity Nurse, she has already gone over to New York as a Maternity Nurse with newborn twins on my recommendation and the reference from the Mum below shows you how fantastic she is.

About Lilias Drake
I was born in New Zealand and I have lived in the United Kingdom for most of the last 10 years. I completed the Tines Maternity Nurse Course in 2001. Which focused on caring for all aspects of a baby from birth. Since then I have looked after for a range of ages, newborns through to young teens.
During the past few years I have focused more on newborns and older babies, as I have found myself completely in my element when tending to their individual and different needs. I have a passion for working with baby’s and seeing the positive impact I can have on a family is really rewarding. Helping families get through what can be a very exhausting, but very joyful time, is very important to me.
Nothing brings me more pleasure than assisting parents with their new arrival. I support parents through all the wonderful highs and lows of having a baby. Giving them confidence so they can enjoy their new family, and helping siblings share the excitement .
Being apart of Jo’s team has been a dream for about 5 years now. Jo and I have a very similar work ethic and a paralleled commitment to all our families we work with. I have complete trust and 100% commitment to Jo’s ideas and vision. Having successfully used Jo’s routines for the last 5 years and seen first hand how well they work, I really feel honoured to have Jo share all her extra secrets with me during her continuing training programme. I also have a current First Aid certificate and I am CRB checked.
I’m very excited to be apart of the ‘Baby Secrets’ team and I look forward to being at her side as her company reaches wonderful heights.

Jo
started working with baby’s and toddlers at the age of 16
at a local Family Centre in Nottingham. At 17 she started studying
for her Nursery Nurse Diploma at Basford Hall College in Nottingham.
As part of the course Jo undertook several placements including
working with babies with breathing difficulties at the Nottingham
City Hospital; working with baby’s in Day Nurseries and with
a family with twins.
